Review:

I used to use the strips manufactured by Bayer but tried these, simply because they worked out about £10 less per tube of 100 sticks. I am very glad that I did, because they are not only cheaper but, in my opinion, superior in almost every respect. Everything except Leuokocytes (which have to be read at 120 seconds) can be read at the same time, after only 30 seconds! The colour blocks on the strip line up with those on the tube and so it is a cinch to read the results too. They are also far more accurate for testing glucose, responding to very low levels that the competitor sticks miss. The only modest downsides I can see is that for protein the first level marked is at the 0.3 level, rather than having a specific colour for the trace level, so you have to interpolate a trace protein level, as a subtle colour change between the specific negative and 0.3 level colour changes marked on the tube, if you see what I mean. You also do not get as many reference levels for increments of PH value and so have to interpolate these between the specific colour changes shown on the tube too but neither of these issues are difficult to resolve, once you get used to the sticks. All in all then, a very good product at a very good price, with excellent service from medisave on both purchase and delivery. Highly recommended.
