To mark National Apprenticeship Week we have created the first of three blog posts detailing the day to day work life of three current apprentices at different stages of their apprenticeship.
Name: Adam
Age: 21
Length of service: 2 years and 5 months.
Apprenticeships: AAT Level 2 Accounting Apprenticeship and AAT Level 3 Accounting Apprenticeship.
Overview: Adam joined Medisave in 2016 as an intermediate apprentice, working as a 'Trainee Accounts Assistant'. Adam successfully completed this apprenticeship and progressed to the AAT level 3 accounting apprenticeship, and is scheduled to take his final exam this month.
Adam is a hugely valuable member of the Finance team. He has gained invaluable experience working in a close knit and experienced team that works with GBP, USD, CAD, NZD, EUROS. Upon the impending completion of his course, we look forward to offering him a permanent contract and supporting him with the exciting next step to 'Accounts Assistant'.
Adam says,
"My apprenticeship doing the AAT Level 3 (after previously completed the AAT Level) has provided me with the opportunity to work a 9-5 job and learn at the same time in an area that I have wanted to work in and learn more about. It has enabled me to push myself to accomplish things that I did not think I would do at the age I am.
I am working in the Accounts department of an international medical supplies company and it is something that I am proud of. The great support network here at Medisave has enabled me to develop and flourish - not only professionally, but as a person. I have grown as a person in ways I did not think I could, and this apprenticeship has given me the opportunity to continue to grow and learn. As Henry Ford once said, “Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays youngâ€."
