Ethicon Dermabond AHV12 topical skin adhesive uses 2-octyl cyanoacrylate to form a flexible, non-absorbent microbial barrier for surgical closure.

This Ethicaon topical skin adhesive is a sterile, non-absorbable liquid skin adhesive formulated with 2-octyl cyanoacrylate for secure topical wound closures. Designed as an alternative to traditional sutures or staples. Dermabond creates a strong polymer film that bonds wound edges and forms a protective microbial barrier.

When the liquid makes contact with skin, the adhesive polymerises rapidly to form a flexible film that helps hold wound edges together while supporting natural healing. The non-ablative film gradually sloughs off as the epidermis regenerates, eliminating the need for suture removal.

Dermabond can be used in surgical and clinical environments. Ideal for closure of clean surgical skin incisions, closure of simple, easily approximated lacerations, minimally invasive surgical puncture sites, situations where suture removal is undesirable, and applications requiring topical adhesive wound support.
