The pMDI is a widely used popular inhaler format; yet most patients do not use their pMDIs correctly. Many inhale too rapidly, some cannot co-ordinate inhalation and actuation. “The potential advantage of improving inhalation technique are likely to be compelling. Poor inhaler technique leads either to worse asthma control than could have otherwise be achieved, or to stepping up to higher doses.†(Respiratory Medicine, 2012).
