The Meyerding Retractor is frequently used to hold back tissue and muscle in spinal and neurosurgical procedures such as Laminectomy. It has a short downward lip at the end of the curved blade, with saw-toothed style teeth. The smooth rounded handle has a finger rest hook at the end.
