How to use a butterfly needle?

To use a Safety-Multifly butterfly needle, open the packaging and remove the needle. Attach the needle holder to a syringe tube. 

After the blood has been collected, grasp the back end of the needle protector between your thumb and forefinger and withdraw the needle from the vein.

How to activate the needle protector?

To activate the needle protector while the needle is still in the vein, slide the safety needle protector forward while removing the safety needle from the patient's vein. The needle protector is in place once it clicks.

To activate the needle protector after the needle has been removed from the vein, slide the needle protector forward until it clicks.
