The SAM junctional tourniquet has been engineered to effectively control haemorrhages and bleeding in inguinal or axilla areas, like the pelvis, where standard tourniquets may not be applicable. With the proper training, the tourniquet can be applied in under 25 seconds, controlling bleeding and immobilising pelvic fractures.
Includes a Target Compression Device, which can quickly be inflated with the included removable hand pump or luer lock syringe. These inflate to 3.2 inches to control bleeding from major inguinal and axillary injuries or traumatic, high-level amputations.
Included with the TCD is an extender which fits over the top of the TCD to provide SJT application for subclavicular anatomy. It can also occlude blood flow bilaterally by using two TCDs.
Featuring SAM autostop buckle technology, which helps prevent undertightening to ensure all slack is removed prior to TCD inflation. Once the optimal compressive force is reached, two prongs activate, clicking to confirm correct application. The buckle is secured in place with its Velcro® system strap.
