FAQs

How to apply plaster-of-Paris bandages?

Immerse the slab in room-temperature tap water for 3-5 seconds, then remove any excess until it is damp, not dripping wet. Squeeze to remove excess water, then wrap the bandage around the limb you're casting. This will dry in 2-4 minutes, forming a permanent cast of the patient's limb.

Do not use water that's too hot, redip the bandage into water or make the cast overly thick (3 layers of bandages maximum).

How to remove plaster-of-Paris bandages?

Soak the cast in a bucket of warm water, it should take 20-30 minutes for the cast to become soft. Find the nobble and unwind the cast before removing the wool layer and sockinette.
